Apple Likely to Launch iPad 11 with iPadOS 18.3 in Early 2025

Apple appears to be preparing a refresh for its entry-level iPad, which hasn’t seen an update since 2022. According to recent reports, the new iPad 11 is expected to debut in early 2025, potentially alongside the release of iPadOS 18.3.

A reliable source on X, previously known as Twitter, has revealed that Apple plans to introduce the iPad 11 early next year. The launch is expected to align with the public release of iPadOS 18.3, with the new tablet shipping with the software pre-installed.

The first developer beta of iPadOS 18.3 became available last week, primarily focusing on minor refinements, such as enhanced support for smart home devices like vacuum robots. Under the hood, it seems Apple is also preparing the groundwork for compatibility with the iPad 11.

Historically, Apple releases “.3” updates to iPadOS and iOS in late January. This timeline aligns with earlier reports by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who suggested a spring 2025 launch for the iPad 11. Together, these hints suggest the entry-level iPad could arrive as early as February or March.

The iPad 11 is rumored to feature Apple’s first wireless modem, capable of handling both Wi-Fi and 5G connectivity. This upgrade could make the device more versatile for users who rely on mobile networks.

Additionally, earlier reports mentioned that Apple was testing an iPad prototype equipped with the A14 chip—currently used in the iPad 10. However, sources now indicate that this prototype was primarily for testing the new wireless modem. The final version of the iPad 11 is expected to feature a faster processor, potentially the A17 Pro, which powers the iPad mini. This could enable better performance and support for Apple’s Intelligence features.

Apple’s current entry-level iPad 10 is priced at $349, with occasional discounts bringing it down to $279 on platforms like Amazon. While this makes the iPad 10 an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers, waiting for the iPad 11 could be worthwhile for those seeking better performance and modern connectivity features.

Alongside the iPad 11, Apple is also rumored to unveil a new iPhone SE and an updated iPad Air in spring 2025. These devices might be announced together at a special event or through a series of promotional videos, continuing Apple’s tradition of strategic product launches.

For now, iPad enthusiasts can look forward to what promises to be a more powerful and connected entry-level tablet, with more details expected in the months to come.
