Assam Plans to Give Free Scooters to Class 12 Passed Students

The Assam government, through the Dr. Banikanta Kakati Award program, will gift scooters to 35,775 successful Class 12 students on November 30. This decision was made in a state cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati. Among them, 5,566 boys who scored 75% or more and 30,209 girls who scored 60% or more in the Class 12 exams conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will receive scooters as part of the scheme.

Sharing the cabinet’s choices, Assam Tourism Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah stated, “The state government will provide scooters to 35775 meritorious students who passed the Class 12 examination and the scooters distribution program will be held on November 30.

Apart from this, 27183 students who have secured 75 percent and above in the HSLC examination conducted by SEBA are to be given ₹ 15,000 under the Anundoram Borooah Award scheme on November 29.”

The state cabinet decided to allocate three additional MBBS seats for the Royal Government of Bhutan, with two seats at Nalbari Medical College and one at FAAMC, Barpeta.

The state cabinet also approved the Assam Private Security Agencies Rules for 2023, replacing the previous rules from 2008.
