The IPL auction is happening today in Dubai, and 332 players are in the spotlight. Mallika Sagar is making history as the first female auctioneer. Richard Madley, the first auctioneer, sent well-wishes and shared a nostalgic picture of the hammers he used in past auctions before Mallika Sagar’s first IPL 2024 auction.
On his official X page, he captioned, “Good luck Mallika Sagar as you prepare for the ‘ipl2024auction’. It is the ultimate honor to be invited to conduct the world’s highest-profile auction and I wish you well. I will always treasure the memories”
The picture shows hammers of different sizes and colors that are used by Madley in the League’s auctions. He started using the hammer in 2008 and kept doing it until the IPL 2018 edition.
