Bikaner, Rajasthan | May 22, 2025 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a massive public rally in Bikaner, delivered a powerful message regarding India’s swift and decisive response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, declaring that the perpetrators were “neutralized in just 22 minutes” during Operation Sindoor.
“The attack on April 22 was avenged in 22 minutes. Our forces destroyed the nine biggest terrorist hideouts. The world has now seen what happens when vermilion turns into gunpowder,” PM Modi told the crowd, drawing thunderous chants of “Modi, Modi!”
He added emotionally, “Not blood, but sindoor flows in my veins.” Modi’s remarks came during his first visit to Rajasthan since the launch of the cross-border military strike.
“Sindoor Torn from Sisters’ Foreheads”
Referring to the heinous nature of the Pahalgam attack, the Prime Minister said, “The terrorists removed the sindoor from the foreheads of our sisters after asking their religion. The bullets were fired in Pahalgam, but the pain was felt by 140 crore Indians.”
Modi said the government responded with full force, giving the Indian Armed Forces a “free hand” to act. “Every Indian vowed to bring the terrorists to dust. All three forces (Army, Navy, Air Force) were empowered and together created a ‘Chakravyuh’ that brought Pakistan to its knees,” he asserted.
PM Modi’s Three-Point Doctrine Against Terrorism
Outlining India’s new doctrine on dealing with terrorism, PM Modi laid out three clear principles:
- Every terror attack on Indian soil will be avenged — the time, method, and scale of retaliation will be decided by Indian forces.
- India will not be intimidated by nuclear threats.
- There will be no distinction between terrorists and the governments that harbor or support them. This assertive posture, Modi emphasized, is a direct message to Pakistan, which India holds responsible for sponsoring cross-border terrorism.
Operation Sindoor: Over 100 Terrorists Eliminated
India’s Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7, following the April 22 terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which claimed 26 innocent lives. According to government sources, the retaliatory strikes resulted in the elimination of over 100 terrorists, including top operatives from Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen.
Modi concluded his speech by saluting the courage of the armed forces and assuring the public that India would never tolerate attacks on its sovereignty or its citizens.
