Bhajan Lal Sharma who belongs to Bhartiya Janatha Party is a first-time MLA from Sanganer, took the oath as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan on Friday. The swearing-in ceremony was held in Jaipur with the presence of dignitaries like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union Ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal, Nitin Gadkari, Gajendra Singh Shekhwant former Rajasthan CM Ahok Ghlot, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawanth, Chief Minister of Tripura Manik Saha and other esteemed leaders. Following Bhajan Lal Sharma’s oath, two prominent figures were sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari, often referred to as the “People’s Princess,” and seasoned leader Prem Chand Bairwa.

Bhajan Lal Sharma’s role as a new chief Minister is more significant for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP party secured a resounding victory in the November 25 assembly elections, and got 115 seats, while the opponent party Congress settled for 69 seats. Bhajan Lal Sharma secured the Sanganer assembly seat with an impressive margin, of 145,162 votes against his Indian National Congress opponent Pushpendra Bhardwaj’s 97,081 votes.
