Circle to Search’ Arrives on Nothing Phone 2 and Phone 2a with Android 15 Upgrade

Google’s innovative Circle to Search feature, which first debuted on Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices in early 2024, is now making its way to the Nothing Phone series. This new addition is part of the Android 15 update, now rolling out to Nothing Phone (2), Phone (2a), and Phone (2a) Plus.

A Gradual Rollout with Tested Builds

Nothing has confirmed that Circle to Search was added after the three devices successfully “[passed] additional testing.” While the stable Android 15 update (Nothing OS 3.0) is live for Phone (2) and Phone (2a), the update for the Phone (2a) Plus remains in beta testing.

To use the feature, users must ensure they’re running the correct build:

  • Phone (2): Build “Pong-V3.0-241207-0124
  • Phone (2a): Build “Pacman-V3.0-241210-2057
  • Phone (2a) Plus: Build “PacmanPro-V3.0-241126-1448

Users can check their build version by navigating to the Settings menu.

Circle to Search is a contextual search tool designed to enhance how users interact with content on their screens. Depending on the navigation mode—three-button navigation or gesture navigation—the feature can be accessed by long-pressing either the home button or the navigation bar.

Nothing has indicated that more devices in its lineup will receive Circle to Search functionality in future updates.
