Mumbai, May 22, 2025 – Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is reportedly no longer part of director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film Spirit, starring Prabhas. According to multiple media reports, the decision follows disagreements over work schedules, remuneration, and language requirements.
Sources indicate that Padukone requested an 8-hour workday, which would translate to approximately 6 hours of actual shooting time. She also allegedly demanded a remuneration of ₹20 crore, along with a share in the film’s profits. Additionally, reports suggest she declined to deliver her dialogues in Telugu, the film’s primary language.
These demands reportedly led to friction between Padukone and Vanga, culminating in the actress’s exit from the project. Neither Padukone nor the filmmakers have issued an official statement regarding the matter.
Spirit has already faced delays due to Padukone’s maternity leave and Prabhas’s other commitments. With the search for a new leading lady underway, the film’s production schedule may be further impacted.
Padukone is currently involved in other projects, including the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, and Shah Rukh Khan’s King.
