Berlin, May 22, 2025 — As part of his official visit to Europe, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar chaired a high-level regional conference of Indian Ambassadors in Europe on Thursday, reaffirming India’s firm stand against terrorism and emphasizing the country’s message of zero tolerance through the lens of “Operation Sindoor.”
The conference, held in Berlin, brought together Indian envoys stationed across the European continent. In the meeting, Jaishankar underscored the significance of coordinated diplomatic engagement in conveying India’s global position on security and sovereignty, particularly in light of recent regional security developments.
“Chaired the regional conference of our Ambassadors in Europe today in Berlin. We discussed #OpSindoor and our message of zero tolerance for terrorism. Also deliberated on various aspects of more deeply engaging Europe at a time of change,” the minister posted on X.
Later in the evening, EAM Jaishankar held productive discussions with several members of the German Bundestag, appreciating their ongoing support for strengthening India-Germany ties. The talks spanned a range of topics, including mutual cooperation in trade, technology, and global security.
“A good interaction with members of German Bundestag this evening in Berlin. Appreciate their strong support for continued growth of India-Germany relations. Also discussed with them India’s firm commitment of combatting terrorism in all forms and manifestations,” Jaishankar wrote in another post.
The minister’s engagements in Germany come as part of his broader diplomatic tour across Europe, which includes visits to the Netherlands and Denmark from May 19 to 24. In the Netherlands, Jaishankar reiterated India’s unwavering stance against terrorism and highlighted the global imperative to confront extremism in a united and decisive manner.
With global geopolitical dynamics shifting, India continues to push for stronger strategic and diplomatic alignments with European nations, particularly in areas of counter-terrorism, economic cooperation, and technological exchange.
