Google Memo Warning: Google Company Says It Will Not Accept Such Behavior From Employees

Google Memo Warning: Google fired 28 employees who took part in a protest against the company. This decision has caused debate in many countries around the world.

Amazon and Google have agreed to work together to offer artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud technology services. The deal is said to be worth $1.2 billion. In this situation, some people who work at Google took part in a protest. They believe it’s unfair to provide these technologies while attacks are happening in Israel and Palestine.

On Tuesday, some people held a sit-in at Google offices in New York and California. They stayed there for more than 10 hours. After Google made a complaint to the police, the protesters were arrested.

Google fired 28 people who joined the protest. Chris Rocko, the head of Google’s international security division, sent a letter to employees about the situation. He wrote, “28 people who protested against the company have been fired. Some have been arrested. Google will not accept such actions.”

Chris spoke to the employees and mentioned that they might have seen news about protests at some of Google’s offices the previous day. He said that some employees had brought the protests into the buildings in New York and Sunnyvale, taking over office spaces, damaging property, and disrupting the work of other employees. He noted that their behavior was unacceptable, very disruptive, and made co-workers feel unsafe. Google looked into the situation and cut off the employee’s access to its systems. Those who didn’t leave were arrested and removed by the police.

After the investigation, Google fired 28 employees involved in the protests. The company would keep investigating and take more action if needed.

Chris emphasized that this kind of behavior doesn’t belong in the workplace and won’t be tolerated. It broke many policies that all employees must follow, including the Code of Conduct and policies on Harassment, Discrimination, Retaliation, Standards of Conduct, and Workplace Concerns.

He pointed out that the workplace is a business environment, and all employees should read the policies and follow them in how they act and communicate at work. Most employees follow the rules, but those who think the company will ignore policy violations should reconsider. Google takes the situation very seriously and will enforce its policies against disruptive behavior, including firing employees.

Chris ended by saying that employees could expect to hear more from leaders about proper behavior and communication standards in the workplace.
