Restaurants often deploy various strategies to attract people, be it through ambiance, mouth-watering dishes, or exceptional service. Nagoya’s Nishiki Sanchome, there’s a unique restaurant called Shachihoko-ya Izakaya that does things differently to attract customers. For $2 which is for 300 yen, the customer can get slaps by female waitresses. The slap service was discontinued in November after the video became viral on social Media.

Lately, more and more people, both from Japan and other countries, are becoming interested in this unique place. It’s not a regular kind of restaurant, and it’s becoming really popular. People are drawn to it not just for the food but for the strange experience of getting slapped. Some customers even feel a sense of calm after going through these unexpectedly strong encounters.
