Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned on Friday that India is working towards becoming a leader in 6G technology.
While speaking at the India Mobile Congress in Delhi, he mentioned,
“We are not only expanding 5G in the country but also moving in the direction of becoming leaders in the area of 6G technology.”
PM Modi shared that India has greatly improved its mobile broadband speed, jumping from 118th place to the 43rd spot. He also mentioned that within one year of introducing 5G, the country has set up four lakh 5G base stations.
The Prime Minister also took the opportunity to criticize the UPA government for the 2G spectrum scam.
He said, “Everyone knows what happened during the 2G spectrum allocation under the UPA government. During our government, 4G expanded, and there was no stain on us. I am confident that India will lead the world in 6G technology as well.”
PM Modi mentioned that the government’s top priorities are providing people with money, resources, and technology. He also talked about Google’s recent decision to make Pixel phones in India.
“Recently, Google announced the manufacturing of its Pixel phone in India. Samsung’s Fold 5 mobile phone and Apple’s iPhone 15 are being manufactured in India. We are proud that the world is using Made in India mobile phones now,” he said.
PM Modi opened the 7th Edition of the India Mobile Congress, which is taking place from October 27 to 29, at the newly established Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan.
