Today evening at 5:35 PM, ISRO is ready to launch its GSLV F14/INSAT-3DS mission from the Sriharikota launch site. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) plans to send its meteorological satellite, INSAT-3DS, into orbit aboard the GSLV F14 spacecraft. The INSAT-3DS satellite is designed to enhance meteorological observations, aiding in weather forecasting and disaster management efforts.

ISRO has shared that Saturday’s GSLV-F14/INSAT-3DS mission aims to continue the services offered by the existing INSAT-3D (launched in 2013) and INSAT-3DR (launched in September 2016). These services include better meteorological observations, keeping an eye on land and ocean surfaces to predict weather changes, and issuing warnings for disasters.

Additionally, the mission seeks to provide Satellite-aided Research and Rescue services (SAR) among other benefits. This means the satellite will be able to assist in locating and rescuing people in distress, using its advanced technology to pinpoint their location accurately.

By launching the INSAT-3DS satellite, ISRO aims to improve weather forecasting accuracy and enhance disaster management efforts.
