IPL Points Table 2024: Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians on Sunday, keeping them on track for the IPL 2024 playoffs.

Chennai Super Kings won a close match against Mumbai Indians by 20 runs at the Wankhede Stadium. Mumbai Indians were chasing a target of 207 runs but ended up scoring 186/6 in 20 overs. Rohit Sharma, the former MI captain, played an excellent innings, scoring an unbeaten 105 runs off 63 balls.

After the loss, Pandya spoke about the match. He said the target was achievable, but CSK bowled well. He highlighted Matheesha Pathirana’s performance, saying Pathirana made a difference. He also mentioned CSK’s smart strategies and the guidance of Dhoni, who was behind the stumps.

Pandya noted the pitch was challenging and slowed down a bit. He emphasized the importance of batting well with intent. He added that Mumbai Indians were doing fine in the chase until Pathirana took two key wickets.

“It was about choosing the best options at the time. We could have made different decisions. I prefer to play cricket with careful calculations, and it would have been tougher for Shivam Dube to face seamers than spinners. We have four away games coming up and need to maintain our high level of cricket,” Hardik Pandya added.

Rajasthan Royals lead the IPL 2024 points table with 10 points from six games. Kolkata Knight Riders are in second place with eight points, followed by Chennai Super Kings with eight points in third. Sunrisers Hyderabad are in fourth with six points, followed by Lucknow Super Giants in fifth and Gujarat Titans in sixth, each with six points.

Punjab Kings are in seventh place with four points, just ahead of Mumbai Indians in eighth with four points as well. Delhi Capitals hold ninth place, and Royal Challengers Bangalore are at the bottom of the standings with two points.
