However, his record was later broken by MI pacer Gerald Coetzee, who bowled a delivery at 157.4km/h against the Rajasthan Royals. The right-handed pacer has missed the last two matches because of an injury he got during a game against Rajasthan Royals.
The Lucknow Super Giants, who have won three out of six matches, will play against Ruturaj Gaikwad’s Chennai Super Kings today. The match will take place at the Ekana Sports City Stadium in Lucknow.
Before the match, fans have been wondering if the young Indian pacer will return to play. LSG assistant coach Lance Klusener has shared an update on the pacer’s injury.
When talking about Mayank’s availability for the game against CSK, Klusener said, “I am not sure if he will play in tomorrow’s match against Chennai. He has been practicing bowing, but his fitness is our priority. I can’t say if he will participate.”

Former Australian cricketer Tom Moody recently supported Mayank’s inclusion in India’s T20 World Cup squad. Moody spoke to ESPNCricinfo and said, “What is impressive about Mayank is not just his speed. It’s exciting to watch players like Nicholas Pooran hit big shots, but Mayank has good control. He not only has control but also seems mature in how he bowls. His lines and lengths are effective. He is a great discovery.”
