According to School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar, the hiring procedure for teachers in Maharashtra’s public schools will be finished in the next two months.
During the legislative assembly’s question hour, Maharashtra School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar addressed a question about teacher recruitment from NCP MLA Jayant Patil and Leader of the Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar. He stated that the recruitment process is in progress and will be finished in the upcoming two months.
45,000 teaching positions in the state’s government schools are still open, of which 30,000 will be filled after the hiring process is completed, according to data released by the Department of Education.

The minister added that 3,214 students in the state were not attending school, 1,624 of whom were males and 1,590 of whom were girls, according to a study conducted by the education department. According to Kesarkar, 875 males and 765 girls of these pupils are enrolled at neighboring schools.
The state pays about ₹63,000 crore in teacher salaries, according to a finance department official, and this amount will rise sharply after the 30,000 positions are filled.
