Famous Indian fashion designer Manish Malhotra opened its first flagship store in Dubai at The Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue. On Thursday, Reliance Brands Ltd (RBL), part of Reliance Industries’ retail arm, announced on social media the opening of the first global flagship store for the Indian luxury brand Manish Malhotra in Dubai.
On the Instagram page, captioned, “Our India Story at The Manish Malhotra Flagship Store Dubai More than just a physical space, “The India Story” at our Dubai Flagship Store is an experience, a journey through the intricacies of India’s cultural tapestry. With every creation, you are transported to a world where tradition meets modernity and where old techniques find new expressions.”
The company shared on LinkedIn that the opening of Manish Malhotra’s first global flagship store in Dubai is a proud moment for Indian fashion, marking a significant step in globalizing Indian couture.
In October 2021, RBL invested in Manish Malhotra, getting a 40% stake, the first external investment for the Indian designer’s brand. Since 2005, Manish Malhotra’s luxury retail brand has expanded, with flagship stores in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Hyderabad. Reliance Brands, a part of Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd, started in 2007 to launch and build global brands in the luxury and premium segments of fashion and lifestyle.
Gauri Khan said that designing Manish’s store in Dubai was an amazing experience. I design to combine luxury and grandeur, highlighting every detail to showcase Manish’s majestic creations. We have similar design tastes. The designer posted an update on Instagram for his fans and followers.
He mentioned, “I feel emotional as it has always been my dream to bring our much cherished Indian embroidery and craftsmanship to a global platform. Our Dubai store is a reflection of my home where every person who walks in; is embraced by Indian culture and warm hospitality. This palatial ivory space gives a sense of serenity ornamented with fresh flowers. With a cup of aromatic Indian Chai, I wanted to offer the same warmth to every person, making them feel like they’re a part of my extended family.”
