MK Stalin’s Birthday: The DMK Celebrating TN Chief Minister M. K. Stalin’s 71st Birthday

MK Stalin’s Birthday: Today, in Chennai, it’s Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin’s 71st birthday. Birthday celebrations are happening all across Tamil Nadu on behalf of the DMK party. Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin was born on March 1, 1953. He has held the positions of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and President of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party since August 28, 2018.

Stalin has a long history in Tamil Nadu politics. He served as the 45th Mayor and First Deputy Chief Minister of Chennai from 1996 to 2002. Over the years, he has played various roles in state governance and party leadership, earning him respect and recognition among the people of Tamil Nadu.

Under Stalin’s leadership, the DMK has seen significant growth and success in recent years. His commitment to serving the people and advancing the welfare of Tamil Nadu has made him a prominent figure in the state’s political landscape. As he celebrates his 71st birthday, many supporters and well-wishers join in honoring his contributions to the state and its people.

Stalin’s Name Reason

Stalin, the third son of former Chief Minister and DMK leader M. Karunanidhi, was born to Karunanidhi’s wife Dayalu Ammal on March 1, 1953, in a hospital in Chennai. Interestingly, Soviet leader Joseph Stalin passed away just four days after Stalin’s birth, prompting Karunanidhi to name his child after the Soviet leader. This decision was made in honor of Joseph Stalin, and Karunanidhi even addressed a condolence meeting for him.

Stalin’s Education

Growing up, Stalin attended Madras Christian College High School for his early education. He then pursued his pre-university studies at Vivekananda College. In 1973, he graduated with a degree in History from Chennai Presidency College, which is part of Chennai University.

Stalin’s dedication and contributions have earned him recognition over the years. In fact, on August 1, 2009, Anna University awarded him an honorary doctorate in acknowledgment of his achievements and service to society. This recognition stands as a testament to his commitment to education and public service.
