Narendra Singh Tomar was born on 12th June 1957 in Morar Village of Gwalior district in Madhya Pradesh. His parents were Munshi Singh Tomar and Sharda Devi Tomar. He got his graduation from the university called Jiwaji. He is then married to Kiran Tomar. He has two sons and a daughter. Tomar was appointed by Mr. Narendra Modi as a Union Cabinet Minister of Steel, Mines, Labour, and Employment on May 27, 2014. On 5 July 2016, during the second reshuffle of Narendra Modi Ministery, he became the minister of Panchayati Raj and replaced Birender Singh. He was additionally given charge of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries on 18th September 2020.
But in 2020, he had a tough time with farmers because the BJP-led government put in place three controversial farm laws. These laws were the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, and The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act. However, these laws had to be withdrawn a year later because farmers from various states, especially from Punjab and Haryana, protested against the government led by Narendra Modi. After that Narendra Singh Tomar became the Member of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
