Pakistan Election: Tension is High in Pakistan Today As They Have Elections. Twin Bomb Explosions Killed Many People

Pakistan Election: In Islamabad, Pakistan, today is the day for parliamentary elections. The country is facing many problems like political crises, conflicts, and bomb blasts.

Back in 2022, Imran Khan’s time as leader ended, and Shehbaz Sharif became the Prime Minister. Last year, before the elections, the Parliament of Pakistan ended in August. Anwar ul Haq Kakar became the temporary Prime Minister, chosen by former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Leader of the Opposition, Raja Riaz.

About Pakistan Election

Today in Pakistan, they are having parliamentary elections. There is a big fight going on between the three main parties. One party is called Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), led by Imran Khan, who used to be the Prime Minister but is now in jail. Another party is the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), led by Nawaz Sharif, who was also a former Prime Minister.

Then there is the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), led by Bilawal Bhutto, who is the son of another former Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto. These three parties are all trying hard to win the elections.

Today, they have said the voting will begin at 8 in the morning and finish at 5 in the evening. The Election Commission of Pakistan says that about 128,585,760 people are going to vote. To make sure everyone can vote, they have made today a public holiday all across the country. This means people don’t have to go to work or school, so they have time to go and cast their votes.

The arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and the violence that followed caused a lot of problems in Pakistan during the parliamentary elections. There are about 6,50,000 special armed forces soldiers working to keep things safe and secure during this time. Their job is to make sure that everyone can vote without any fear or trouble.

Twin Blast

According to the rules for elections in Pakistan, the results have to be announced within 14 days after the voting day. Today, on February 8, the voting is happening. Based on Section 98 of the Election Act, people are expecting the results to be out by February 22.
