Paytm FASTag Account: Starting from March 15, Paytm FASTag users are required to close their accounts. This decision comes after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) prohibited Paytm Payments Bank (PPBL) from taking on new clients for various services.

Consequently, no transactions such as deposits, credit transactions, or top-ups will be accepted for customer accounts, prepaid cards, Paytm Wallets, FASTags, or NCMC cards. As a result, Paytm FASTag users must close their accounts by March 15 and obtain a new FASTag from another NHAI-authorized issuer. This change is aimed at ensuring compliance with regulatory directives.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has advised Paytm FASTag users to get a new FASTag from a different bank before March 15, 2024, to ensure smooth travel and avoid problems at toll plazas. This step aims to prevent penalties or extra charges on National Highways.

Following the guidelines set by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) concerning restrictions on Paytm Payments Bank, Paytm FASTag users won’t be able to add money to their accounts after March 15, 2024. However, they can still use the existing balance in their accounts to pay tolls after this date. This measure is meant to align with regulatory requirements and maintain efficiency on highways.

How to Check Paytm FASTag Status?

To check the status of your Paytm FASTag:

1. Call the Paytm toll-free number: 1800-120-4210.
2. Provide your mobile number linked to the tag, along with your Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) or Tag ID.
3. A Paytm Payment Bank customer support agent will contact you to confirm the closure of your FASTag.

To check the status of your NETC FASTag:

1. Visit the NETC link to check NETC FASTag status.
2. Select ‘Search by FASTag ID or Vehicle’ and enter the captcha.
3. Click on ‘Check status’ to retrieve the information you need.

To verify if your Paytm FASTag is active:

1. Go to the “Manage Tags” section in your FASTag sub-wallet.
2. Look for the status information provided there.
