Bikaner, Rajasthan – May 22, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 103 redeveloped railway stations across 18 states and union territories under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The event, held in Bikaner, Rajasthan, also included the inauguration of the newly redeveloped Deshnoke railway station and the flagging off of the Bikaner–Mumbai Express train.
The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme aims to modernize over 1,300 railway stations across India, integrating modern infrastructure with cultural heritage. The 103 stations inaugurated have been developed at a cost of over ₹1,100 crore. In Rajasthan, eight stations, including Deshnoke, Bundi, Mandalgarh, Gogameri, Govindgarh, Mandawar-Mahuwa Road, Fatehpur Shekhawati, and Rajgarh, were part of this initiative.
During his visit, PM Modi also laid the foundation stones and dedicated multiple development projects worth over ₹26,000 crore. These projects encompass railway electrification covering more than 940 km, road infrastructure, solar power initiatives, and enhancements in healthcare and water supply.
The Prime Minister’s visit began with a prayer at the Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok, followed by the inauguration events. He addressed a public gathering in Palana village near Bikaner, highlighting the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and national progress.
The redeveloped stations and infrastructure projects are expected to enhance connectivity, promote regional development, and improve the overall travel experience for passengers across the country.
