Brampton, Canada, a monumental masterpiece is set to grace the skyline. It is an inspiring 55-foot Hanuman statue, towering as the tallest representation of a Hindu deity in the country. Crafted by the skilled hands of sculptor Naresh Kumawat from Rajasthan, this divine marvel is scheduled for an opening on April 23. The auspicious date coincides with Hanuman Jayanti, marking the birth anniversary of Hanuman.
The statue is being built at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in the Greater Toronto Area. It got more bigoted attacks and complaints on social media. Hence, the vigilance has been increased. The temple priest said the work has been 95 % completed with a little pedestal work remaining. Kumawat previously built Canada’s tallest Hanuman statue at the Voice of Vedas temple, standing proudly at 50 feet. His artistry extends to the heart of India’s capital, where he crafted a 75-foot Samudra Manthan mural as part of the Central Vista project in the new parliament building in Delhi. This mural narrates a significant episode from Hinduism’s Vishnu Puran, symbolizing the churning of the sea.
On India’s Constitution Day, a seven-foot statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the chair of the committee that drafted the Indian Constitution, found its place at the Supreme Court, with Kumawat as the sculptor. Kumawat’s reach extends far beyond borders, with monumental works gracing countries like England, the US, Australia, Poland, Mauritius, Seychelles, Dubai, Oman, and Russia. Additionally, he crafted a 108-foot Hanuman statue at the Jakhu temple in Shimla.
