Mukesh Ambani, who is the chairman of Reliance Industries, got a scary email earlier this week. The email said that someone would harm him if he didn’t give them ₹20 crore.
“If you don’t give us 20 crore rupees, we will kill you. We have the best shooters in India,” the email said.
A person named Shadab Khan sent the threat on October 27, as per the police. They found out about it because the security people at Mr. Ambani’s house in Mumbai, called Antilia, reported the threat and a complaint was made.
The Mumbai Gamdevi Police filed a case against an unidentified person. They are looking into this case under sections 387 and 506 (2) of the Indian Penal Code.
Mukesh Ambani has faced death threats before. The Mumbai Police arrested a person from Bihar last year for making anonymous calls and threatening Mr. Ambani and his family.
The caller had said they would “blow up” the HN Reliance Foundation Hospital and the Ambani family’s home, ‘Antilia,’ in South Mumbai.
In 2021, a vehicle filled with explosives was discovered close to Mr. Ambani’s home in South Mumbai. A person named Hiran, who had the vehicle, was found dead in a creek in Thane, which is nearby, on March 5 last year.
