The Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee making fun of Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has caused a problem. It’s not just a political issue anymore – BJP women MPs are getting ready to protest near the Gandhi statue in Parliament. The problem started to bloom when videos of TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee imitating Dhankhar spread a lot on social media. Also, Rahul Gandhi, a leader from Congress, was seen recording Banerjee’s imitation during a meeting in the House. The Minister for Parliamentary Affairs also mentioned that members of the NDA would stand for an hour to show their support for Dhankar.
Responding to the incident, Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed his displeasure, labeling the act as “shameful and unacceptable.” In a determined tone, he emphasized his commitment to protecting the dignity of his post and the sanctity of the House. Also, president Murmu wrote on platform X formerly known as Twitter ” I was dismayed to see the manner in which our respected Vice President was humiliated in the Parliament complex. Elected representatives must be free to express themselves, but their expression should be within the norms of dignity and courtesy. That has been the Parliamentary tradition we are proud of, and the People of India expect them to uphold it”.

They’re speaking out against what they see as disrespect towards the Rajya Sabha chairman. This protest adds more layers to the ongoing discussion about what’s acceptable inside the parliament.
