Fahadh Faasil Won’t Touch On Religion in Malayalam Films Because…

Fahadh Faasil Won’t Touch On Religion in Malayalam Films: Fahadh Faasil, a versatile actor in Malayalam cinema, has shared his thoughts about avoiding religious themes in his movies. Despite his diverse work across various genres, including his upcoming role in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, Fahadh prefers to steer clear of controversial topics surrounding religion. During a recent interview with Galatta Plus, Fahadh explained his reasons for this decision.

Fahadh Faasil, known for his role in “Aavesham,” openly shared his reluctance to address religion in his films. Reflecting on the reception of his 2020 movie “Trance,” Fahadh expressed reservations about delving into religious themes in Kerala. He explained, “I have my reservations about dealing with religion in Kerala. I don’t think people want to hear the harsh reality, if I may say. They want to be entertained.”

According to Fahadh, “Trance” faced challenges because it lacked the entertainment factor despite addressing important themes. He noted, “There was a lot of awareness and things like that, but the entertainment factor was taken away from the film at some point. That’s where we failed.” Fahadh believes that avoiding religion in Kerala films for a while could be prudent, indicating that it is a sensitive topic that may not resonate well with audiences seeking entertainment.

Fahadh Faasil starred in “Trance,” a psychological thriller film that also featured Gautham Vasudev Menon, Dileesh Pothan, Nazriya Nazim, Chemban Vinod Jose, and Soubin Shahir in important roles. While the movie received praise from critics, it didn’t make any profits at the box office. “Trance” was directed and produced by Anwar Rasheed. Despite its positive reviews, the film didn’t manage to attract a large audience to theaters, resulting in financial losses.

Fahadh Faasil’s latest movie “Aavesham” is receiving high praise, making it the fourth highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2024. Directed by Jithu Madhavan, this action comedy also features Hipzster, Mithun Jai Shankar, and Roshan Shanavas, along with Midhutty, Sajin Gopu, Mansoor Ali Khan, and others.

In addition to his success in Malayalam cinema, Fahadh has exciting projects lined up in other languages. He is set to star in the Telugu action-thriller “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” directed by Sukumar, alongside Rashmika Mandanna. Furthermore, Fahadh will be appearing in Rajinikanth’s upcoming films “Vettaiyan” and “Maresan.” With his multi-talented performances and diverse roles, Fahadh continues to make waves in the film industry across different regions.
