Kamal Haasan is Going to Delhi: Actor Kamal Haasan is heading to Delhi for the shoot of his next movie, and he’ll be staying in the city for about 20 days. The film, “Thug Life,” directed by Mani Ratnam, is set to begin filming in Delhi soon. Kamal Haasan will be joined by Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal for this shoot.
According to a source familiar with the production, Kamal Haasan will start filming for Mani Ratnam’s highly anticipated movie in Delhi starting April 23. The upcoming shoot schedule for “Thug Life” marks an important milestone in the film’s production, as the cast and crew gather in Delhi to bring this pan-India project to life.
An insider shares that Kamal Haasan, Ali Fazal, and Pankaj Tripathi will stay in Delhi for almost 20 days during the shoot. They plan to cover various parts of the city, including landmarks like the Red Fort and Qutub Minar, schools, and farmhouses.
Despite the rising temperatures in Delhi, the team is ready to face the heat. They have planned their shoots to make the most of daylight, with limited night schedules. They are mentally prepared for the weather challenges and are focused on capturing the essence of Delhi during the day.
“The action-thriller marks the reunion of Haasan and Mani Ratnam after 36 years, since their iconic crime film ‘Nayakan’ in 1987. Haasan has collaborated with Ratnam to co-write the script. Initially, the project has been described as ‘an epic tale of power, rebellion, and triumph.’
The star-studded cast includes Trisha, Abhirami, Nassar, Gautham Karthik, Joju George, and Aishwarya Lekshmi. However, it’s uncertain if the entire team will be flying down to the national capital for the shoot.”
According to the source, there are currently no plans for action sequences in the film. They will mainly focus on shooting normal sequences.
The movie was officially announced in November 2022 under the working title KH 234, signifying Kamal Haasan‘s 234th film as the lead actor. The official title was later revealed in November 2023. Principal photography began in January of the same year. The filming process is happening sporadically in different phases, with various locations including Chennai being utilized. Renowned composer AR Rahman will be handling the music for the film, adding his talent to the project.
