Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s Comment About Lalu and Rabri: Rule of Pati-Patni

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar referred to his return to the NDA alliance using the phrase “rule of pati-patni,” in a job at Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi.

CM Nitish Kumar rejoined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bihar. He spoke about his party’s shifting alliance with the ruling NDA and said that Bihar was under the “husband and wife rule” for 15 years. This was a job at RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, who are both former chief ministers.

While speaking at a rally in Nawada, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar mentioned that RJD and NDA have been partners since 2005, despite facing some issues over the past 20 years.

“We have been working with the BJP since November 2005. We had some breaks in our partnership, but now we are back together and we don’t plan on leaving the partnership again,” Nitish Kumar said.

He also criticized the previous state of Bihar. “For 15 years, Bihar was under the ‘husband and wife rule.’ Do you remember the days when people couldn’t go out in the evening? Even though we were MP and minister at the Centre, we had to walk to visit our constituency because there were no roads,” he added.

After a short time with Congress and other parties in the Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance), RJD went back to the NDA and joined the BJP earlier this year. This change led to Nitish Kumar becoming the chief minister of Bihar for the ninth time.

In August 2022, Nitish Kumar had previously switched to the Mahagathbandhan and formed a new government with the support of Congress and the RJD.

While explaining why Nitish Kumar joined the NDA again this year, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said the party was glad to have him back. He praised Nitish Kumar for being free from corruption.

“People should remember that he has a clean record with no corruption. This is important and should be recognized. That’s why we are happy to welcome a leader like him back to our alliance,” he said.
