The first photo of the Ram Lalla idol was revealed during the placement ceremony in the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday, The idol, crafted by a skilled sculptor from Mysuru with a family history of five generations in sculpting, was placed inside the Ram temple in Ayodhya. This happened in preparation for the ‘pran-pratishta’ ceremony on January 22. The 51-inch idol arrived at the temple on Wednesday.
Members of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, along with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, took part in the prayers. According to Arun Dixit, a priest involved in the consecration ceremony, the idol of Ram Lalla was placed in the innermost sanctum on Thursday afternoon. This was accompanied by the recitation of prayers, as stated by the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the ‘pran pratishtha’ or consecration ceremony at the Ram temple on January 22. This ceremony, which involves infusing the idol with divine consciousness, is a crucial step for every idol worshipped in a temple. The Ram temple is expected to open to the public the following day.
The Prime Minister has advised the public not to visit Ayodhya on January 22, expressing a desire not to cause any inconvenience to Lord Ram. He has encouraged everyone to visit starting from January 23.
Arun Dixit mentioned that Anil Mishra, a member of the trust, performed the ‘pradhan Sankalp.’ According to Dixit, the purpose of this ritual is to establish the presence of Lord Ram for the well-being of everyone, the nation, humanity, and those who played a part in this effort.
The Ram Lalla Idol
Various rituals took place, including the distribution of garments to Brahmins and assigning tasks to individuals. The ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony for the Ram temple in Ayodhya is scheduled for January 22, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in attendance. Lakshmikant Dixit and a team of priests will conduct the main rituals. Numerous celebrities and well-known personalities have received invitations to the ceremony. The public opening of the temple is anticipated on January 23.
Rituals for the consecration ceremony have begun at the temple, built at the location believed by many devotees to be the birthplace of Lord Ram. In 1992, ‘kar sevaks’ demolished the Babri Masjid that previously stood on that site. In 2019, a landmark Supreme Court ruling on the temple-mosque dispute cleared the path for the construction of the temple.
