Intel’s Big Plan: Developing ChatGPT-like Apps for Customers, Says Report

In a report from The Information, it’s stated that Intel, the chipmaker, is collaborating with several consulting firms to develop ChatGPT-style applications for their customers. This move comes as the AI trend gains momentum across the tech industry, with rival chipmakers like Nvidia and Broadcom diving into AI technologies.

Intel is also directly offering its specialized AI app-building software to corporate clients. The project started with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) earlier this year and has since expanded to include more consulting firms.

While Intel has not officially commented on this report, in May, Intel and BCG announced a strategic partnership to enable generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) using Intel AI hardware and software. This collaboration aimed to provide custom AI solutions to enterprise clients, ensuring data privacy within secure environments.

Intel is committed to democratizing generative AI, allowing enterprises to safely harness its potential. The company is preparing for a “Windows refresh” in 2024, gearing up its Meteor Lake desktop platform for Windows 12 as part of its AI-driven initiatives.

Intel also recently previewed the upcoming 5th Gen Intel Xeon processors, which promise improved performance and faster memory without increased power consumption, set to launch on December 14. Intel envisions an era it calls the “Siliconomy,” where AI-powered PCs will play a dominant role in our lives.
