Rachin Ravindra Breaks World Cup Records, Leaving Sachin Tendulkar and Jonny Bairstow Behind!

In the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2023, Rachin Ravindra’s brilliance continues to shine. During the tournament, New Zealand faced Sri Lanka in a crucial match and emerged victorious, winning by five wickets. This victory brought New Zealand to the verge of securing a spot in the World Cup semi-finals. Rachin Ravindra played a pivotal role in this win by contributing a solid 42 runs to the team’s total.

The target for New Zealand was a modest 172 runs, and they chased it down with ease, thanks to an impressive opening partnership between Devon Conway, who scored 45 runs, and Rachin Ravindra. They reached the target with a whopping 160 balls to spare in the match held in Bengaluru. During his innings, Rachin Ravindra achieved two significant milestones in his cricket career.

Rachin Ravindra is now the player with the highest number of runs scored in a maiden World Cup edition, surpassing the previous record held by England’s Jonny Bairstow, who scored 532 runs. Additionally, he also holds the record for the most runs in a single edition of the World Cup by a player under the age of 25, surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar‘s record of 523 runs.

With this victory, New Zealand has almost guaranteed themselves a spot in the semi-finals of the tournament. They currently hold the fourth position with 10 points, ahead of Pakistan and Afghanistan, and have a superior net run rate compared to their competitors. For Pakistan and Afghanistan to have a chance of making it to the final four, they would require highly improbable victory margins in their upcoming matches against England and South Africa, respectively.

In their final league match, the Black Caps managed to bounce back from four consecutive losses and are now closing in on a potential semi-final clash against the undefeated Indian cricket team. Rachin Ravindra’s performance in the tournament has been outstanding, including three centuries, which have propelled him to the top of the batting chart with 565 runs.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka has been facing a challenging tournament, and this loss marked their seventh defeat in nine league matches.
