About ‘The Village’

The story of The Village focuses on Gautham Subramanian, a young doctor, and his family. They get stuck in the lonely village of Kattiyal because their car breaks down while traveling from Nagapattinam to Chennai. To get away, Gautham has to face creepy spirits that have been scaring the village, putting his family in danger.

The Village: Cinematic fusion of Horror and Humanity

In 1977, Wes Craven created a film named “The Hills Have Eyes”, starting a series where families find themselves lost in lonely places and pursued by scary families. The film received good reviews and gave rise to numerous films, becoming a favorite for many. It seems like this movie influenced Milind Rau’s “The Village”. Arya’s “The Village” is a chilling series set in the empty areas of Tamil Nadu. It’s a brave project inspired by a scary graphic novel by Asvin Srivatsangam, Vivek Rangachari, and Shamik Dasgupta. The series tells a strange, frightening, and suspenseful story, brought to life by Milind Rau’s creative talent.

In the mysterious village of Kattiyal, “The Village” stands out by blending sci-fi and fantasy with horror, moving beyond the usual ghost story clichés. Indian viewers stay on the edge of their seats with this blend, which offers them something fresh and a modern twist.

The Village Rating

The team, which includes Divya Pillai, Aazhiya, Aadukalam Naren, and others, along with famous Tamil film Actor Arya, gives the frightening story a greater depth and realism. The story is supported by Arya’s performance of Gautham, who convincingly leads the audience through the increasing nightmare. The group’s combined efforts enhance the narrative and make for an engaging watch.

Through his imaginative approach, director Milind Rau effectively blends subtle horror aspects with a realistic feel, giving “The Village” life. The series not only has some terrifying scenes, but it also has a deep message. Rau investigates the effects of human behaviour, highlighting the possible disastrous consequences of uncontrolled signals that can affect entire societies and groups. Similar to the first Wes Craven film, which dealt with morals and American politics, the Arya involves issues of race, gender, and discrimination in addition to moral issues and ethics, all of which are hidden in wrong superstition. Under the cover of the fantasy genre, director Rau has skillfully blended aspects of superstition and rationality to create a thrilling story that explores what it means to be understanding.
